Show Notes

In episode 2 of 2, Jon takes you behind the scenes of a year-long grind to resurrect a coal bed methane site and turn stranded gas into hash. From first setting eyes on a fenced-off relic of Western Pennsylvania’s industrial past to firing up the compressor and plumbing an entire valve bank and trunk line, he share the setbacks, small wins, and the sheer stubbornness it took to keep going.

You’ll meet Mark Lidecker—the 50-year oil and gas veteran whose story and mentorship anchored this project—along with the friends and hard‑charging helpers who kept showing up at 3 a.m., threading pipe, moving 40‑foot towers, and dragging generators down goat tracks in Western PA.

Jon and Max talk honest energy, regenerative agriculture dreams, and the raw logistics of building an off‑grid operation: scavenging and reviving generators, managing negative pressure and heat, designing for excess gas, and learning the craft one union and leak at a time. More than a technical tale, it’s a lesson in mentorship, faith, family support, and community— the Pleb Miner Mafia, the Meshtadel and countless hands—turning doubt into momentum.
